Dues

Annual dues are based on a member’s annual writing income from biography:

• Less than $25,000: $60
• Between $25,001 and $50,000: $100
• Between $50,001 and $100,000: $120
• Greater than $100,000: $200

• Subscriptions to BIO’s monthly online publications, The Insider and The Biographer’s Craft, along with a searchable database of past issues
• Access to BIO’s monthly thematic roundtables on Zoom
• Discount to the annual BIO conference
• Assistance in finding or creating a local BIO group
• Exclusive access to resources, such as a guide to prizes available to biographers
• Eligibility to vote for BIO officers and board members, and serve on BIO committees

Eligibility

Anyone who has published a biography or is currently engages in writing, filming, recording, or otherwise producing a biography shall be considered eligible for active membership, subject to verification of information included in his or her membership application.

Eligibility

Any full-time student at a college or university. To sign up as a student, contact Membership Coordinator Lori Izykowski so you can provide proof of your status as a current, full-time student.
